Estancia La Estela´s Horse Riding Experience
Estancia La Estela is designed and prepared to receive visitors that love Patagonian nature, but at the same time demanding when it comes to relaxing!
It has an easy access by the Route 40 and a privileged location between the two most important touristic cities of the area (El Calafate and El Chaltén at 110 km for each).
The Estancia is located on the shores of Lake Viedma, on the source of the La Leona River. All its facilities have an incredible view of the Lake and the majestic Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre as well!
Horseback Riding by Viedma Lake Program
The journey starts at the Estancia stable towards the tip of Lake Viedma and rising from the La Leona River. After traveling part of the coast of the Lake the caravan reaches the mouth of the Guanaco River. During the crossing the riders will pass several panoramic points where Mount Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre can be contemplated, while provided of a brief overview of the native flora and fauna. Once on the Guanaco River, the group returns to the Estancia hull through the highest plateaus, making a stop at the Yatén Refuge to rest and then carrying on crossing imposing dunes.

Entrance: Creole meat pie (Empanada)
Main Dish: Beef & onions on the disk with mustard sauce, served with potatoes and rustic pumpkins.
Dessert: Warm apple pie with cream, chocolate sauce and red fruits
(Vegetarian and celiac options available)
Includes: soft drinks + tea / coffee + 1 red wine bottle every 2 people.
ITINERARY
Starting off from the La Estela stable and riding docile horses, visitors will be able to enjoy an unforgettable excursion.
- 7,30 hs. Pick-up at hotel. Excursion/tour presentation.
- 8,30 hs. Stop at the second Argentine Lake lookout. Informative geological explanation of the area.
- 9,15 hs. Arrival at La Leona Roadhouse. Breakfast. Brief history and overview of La Leona (Available visit to the small museum). Transfer to La Estela.
- 10,00 hs. Arrival at La Estela and a available ranch visit.
- 10,30 hs. Start riding towards Viedma lake on horseback, riding towards Guanaco river.
- 13,15 hs. Lunch at the “Matera” on the ranch.
- 14,45 hs. Coffee/tea will be served at the saloon/recreation room
- 14,30 hs. Drop-Off at Hotel.
