The picturesque village of El Calafate, located on shores of Lago Argentino at 200 meters above sea level, is the gateway to some of the most spectacular natural sceneries in southern Patagonia.
We suggest visiting the “Glaciarium” for an introduction on the days to come.

The breathtaking Moreno Glacier certainly is the most outstanding of the more than 300 glaciers in the National Park.
Once reaching the panoramic platform, a succession of catwalks, balconies and belvederes allow excellent close up views of the front wall of the glacier from different perspectives and heights.

Resume the trip and via Cerro Castillo-Cancha Carrera border you soon will reach the legendary Route 40 that leads to Lago Viedma and the northern part of Los Glaciares National Park with the majestic Fitz Roy massif.
The little town of El Chaltén; which in the language of the Tehuelche aboriginal people refers to a “smoky mountain”, is the gateway to some of most fascinating mountain sceneries in Southern Patagonia.

Visit to the beautiful Lago del Desierto, hidden between high mountains and lush green Andean forest and reached by a winding gravel road that follows the meandering Rio de las Vueltas.
From there you may choose go on a lake navigation or hike through fantastic woods and mountain scenery to Laguna Huemul with its hanging glacier

Return to Route 40 and following the shoreline of Lake Viedma you may enjoy the last view of the mighty Fitz Roy massif and the magnificent lake and mountain scenery of Los Glaciares National Park.
At established time return your Rental car at El Calafate airport.
