Individual arrival to El Calafate.
The picturesque village of El Calafate, located on shores of Lago Argentino at 200 meters above sea level, is the gateway to some of the most spectacular natural sceneries in southern Patagonia.
Night in El Calafate
Awe-inspiring navigation among fantastic icebergs floating on the turquoise waters of Lago Argentino. Disembark at Estancia Cristina and ascent to the viewpoint for splendid panoramic views of the Upsala Glacier and its tributaries with the Andean Cordillera and the southern Patagonian ice field as a background.
From here we descend through the colorful Fossils Canyon back to the Estancia and in the afternoon return to El Calafate.
Night in El Calafate
Navigation along the southern wall of Perito Moreno Glacier and walk through the virgin Magellan forest to the lateral moraine of the glacier.
By now you are ready for an expedition into the heart of the millenary ice and experience the fascinating interior live of a glacier with its deep fissures and gaps, striking blue holes, small lagoons and even waterfalls.
The tour culminates with a visit to the belvederes and balconies of Moreno Glacier before returning to El Calafate.
Night in El Calafate
In a moonlike landscape amidst the endless steppe of Patagonia, a large depression of the terrain opens, unveiling an important fossil bed with layers of sediments packed with petrified trees and fragments of fossilized dinosaur bones.
After the guided hiking tour the journey continues to El Chaltén.
Night in El Chaltén
After a gentle initial climb a natural viewpoint is reached with excellent views of legendary Cerro Torre and its adjacent granite peaks.
The path continues through beech forests and over glacial moraines to De Agostini Base Camp and Laguna Torre for a rewarding view of ice capped Cerro Torre and Grande Glacier.
Night in El Chaltén
This beautiful trail leads through highland forest, open meadows and low shrubs, offering spectacular views of the vertical granite wall of Mount Fitz Roy.
From Poincenot Base Camp the trail continues in steep and wind exposed ascent to Laguna de los Tres with an extraordinary and rewarding view of the lagoon, the glaciers, Mount Fitz Roy and its neighboring granite needles.
Night in El Chaltén
Day at leisure for additional hiking tours and unforgettable nature experiences amidst the unmatched wilderness beauty of Los Glaciares National Park.
At established time transfer to El Calafate airport or town.
