HIGHLIGHTS
Mendoza & Cuyo Region
DAY BY DAY
You pick up the rental car at the airport and drive to the hotel. Â The rest of the day is free for you to explore the wine capital. Mendoza is a cosmopolitan city of clear skies at the foot of the Andes Mountains.

You drive to Puente del Inca (Inca Bridge), in the Andes Mountains. The geological formation has surprising greens and yellows that seem to melt over the structure of an abandoned termal center. Weather permitting, you then go up to Cristo Redentor in the Chilean border. A huge Christ sculpture advocates for peace between the two countries in front of an inspiring panoramic view of the mountain peaks.
On the way back to Uspallata you stop at a viewpoint. Mount Aconcagua (6960 m), the highest in America and the Southern Hemisphere, unveils its southern face. You continue up north to Barreal with guanacos feeding at the distance and condors flying above you.

You drive to Ischigualasto Park for a guided tour. Its pale colors and earthy textures have given it its well-diserved nickname: Moon Valley.
The guide talks you through geological ages and shows you the funny shapes of the rocks eroded by the wind. Cancha de Bochas formation, of unexplained creation, is the high point of this varied and dreamy landscape.
After the visit you continue to El ChiflĂłn. The hotel, nestled in the same geography, also offers interesting trails

The park is a 40-minute drive away and offers different circuits by foot, bicycle or van into the red canyon and around the area.
During the visit you can see 100 meters-high walls; odd formations eroded by the wind; remains of aboriginal cultures; rheas, guanacos, foxes and condors; and an endless line that crosses it all, because it is exactly here that tectonic plates collide!
Night at El ChiflĂłn

You go across streams, hills and neat towns on your way back to Mendoza and return the rental car at the airport.
